Target Stores

R&M Engineering serves as the regional civil engineering consultant for Target and has been involved with the development of multiple Target stores throughout the Long Island region, most recently including  the property situated at 124 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington.

Each Target location was individually assessed to determine how to best situate the store within the bounds of the property.  The Huntington development was particularly challenging in that regard, as the property was notoriously narrow with steep hills leading to the neighboring residential properties located to the south.  Due to the topography, significant retaining walls were necessary.  R&M Engineering seamlessly coordinated the significant highway improvements, LEED requirements, grading and construction challenges allowing the location to open for business under an accelerated time frame.

During the construction of this project, R&M Engineering also maintain continued involvement with on-site activities, providing our engineering expertise and advisement to direct the on-site activities and assure that all work was performed in such a way so as to prevent any damage to the neighboring community.
